North Carolina Notary E&O Insurance

North Carolina does not require a notary public surety bond. The North Carolina Secretary of State commissions notaries for a five-year term after the applicant completes an approved course of instruction, passes a written examination, and meets the eligibility rules in Chapter 10B of the General Statutes. Errors and omissions (E&O) insurance is optional.
