Virginia Notary E&O Insurance

Virginia does not require notaries public to post a surety bond to obtain a commission. The Secretary of the Commonwealth appoints notaries for a four-year term, and applications carry a $45 fee. Errors and omissions (E&O) insurance is optional and purchased by the notary for personal protection.
